O Parks, WildLife, and Recreation
is a 6 year development project with the intent to establish a unique, ecologically sound and community focused presence in one of the second poorest nations in the Western hemisphere.
Its unique interaction of environmental factors offers the potential for rich populations of flora and fauna both indigenous and migratory. In addition, it has high potential for eco-tourism because of its migratory birds and native mammals. Recreational and educational possibilities are endless. The reserve designed to also perform essential functions in the prevention of natural disasters, in erosion control planting, water banking, and in regulating local climate. Currently the stakeholder is seeking assistance in preparation of the designation and in the ongoing development of a management plan, in coordination with the government.
